WJC NextGen Participates at Brandenburg Menorah Lighting

On the sidelines of the World Union of Jewish Students Congress in Berlin, WJC NextGen participated in the official Brandenburg Gate Hanukkah Lighting on December 29.WJC NextGen brought student leaders from 5 continents lit the candles alongside Holocaust survivor Margot Friedlander, the Governing Mayor of Berlin Kai Wegner. the Head of Police, and State Senators and Ministers.
More than 80 years ago, it was illegal to be Jewish in Germany, let alone proudly celebrate Jewish holidays in public. 80 years later, the Jewish community stands strong.
