Former Lauder Fellow Noa Fišer hosted the second annual Sombor Spiritual Evening, bringing together the community to celebrate unity and diversity. Organized by the Jewish Community of Sombor and the Serbian Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches, the three-day event offered open dialogue and shared experiences, showcasing Sombor's rich multicultural and interfaith heritage. The program began with a panel on “Family,” where leaders from each faith—Chief Rabbi of Serbia Isak Asiel, Archpriest Sava Nikolić, and parish priest Josip Pekanović—shared personal insights on the importance of family in their communities, sparking lively discussions with residents.
The next day, students at the University of Education joined a similar panel, sharing fresh perspectives on how family and faith impact their lives today. The event ended with a memorable concert at the National Theater, featuring the Hasira Choir of the Jewish Community of Novi Sad and the Serbian Orthodox Church Choir of Sombor, which captivated the audience. The evening was a success with free admission and strong community support, and organizers look forward to welcoming more faith leaders and community members next year.
