WJC Elevate members attended multiple side events during the UN's Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), engaging in discussions on women’s rights, accountability, and global challenges.
WJC Executive Committee member and JD Corps Member Elizabeth Chen participated in a side event hosted by the Permanent Mission of Israel to the UN, highlighting the plight of Iranian women subjected to decades of oppression and violence under the Islamic Republic, including testimonies from those targeted during the 2022 “Women, Life, Freedom” movement. She also represented WJC at a Hungarian Mission event on intergenerational solidarity, where H.E. Dr. Attila Beneda outlined policies supporting women in balancing careers and family life.
At the same time, Jewish Diplomatic Academy member Noa Kochai attended an event organized by the Dinah Project hosted by the Czech Republic on accountability for conflict-related sexual violence, featuring Ambassador Jakub Kulhánek and representatives from leading legal and civil society organizations. The discussion addressed global challenges and included reflections on the October 7 gender- based violence committed by Hamas.
Concluding the week, JDA member Nora Monasheri joined a World Water Day webinar hosted by MASHAV, focusing on Israel’s leadership in water innovation and management, including insights from the Israeli Water Authority on addressing regional water challenges.
